Swindon,
Wiltshire, UK – The release of AntiSocial Behaviour, a film
that focuses on making a stand against this social nuisance is widely
and most eagerly awaited by the movie-going public.
The
British suspense thriller’s main character is a pensioner
living alone in a dilapidated, run down house on the edge of a council
estate. He is continuously tormented and abused by local
youths. Unable to bear more after weeks of aggravation, he
decides to make a last ditch attempt to restore order in his life and
take revenge at the same time. The unsuspecting tormentors
begin to disappear one by one to meet their death on the hands of the
tormented.
A
new UK independent film-maker by the name of AntiSocial Films produced
it, in what it hopes to be the first of a string of low budget, high
quality feature films. The process it used in the hiring of
actors and actresses was quite uncommon as it encouraged literally all
types of people interested in the project to e-mail photos and full
contact details for possible roles in the film, all in the name of
realism.
The
reality of the problems associated with antisocial behaviour is
probably the single most important reason for the public’s
interest in the film. Statistics would show that an incident
of antisocial behaviour is reported every two seconds in England and
Wales. In fact, Swindonians held a ceremony called
“Taking a Stand” awards way back 2004. It
was a tribute to local heroes who were not afraid to stand up to
troublemakers.
South
Swindon MP Julia Drown recognised antisocial behaviour as a scourge
that affects all parts of the country including Swindon. She
warns of its monetary and social costs that have wrecked havoc on not
just a few lives. Some acts that can be branded as antisocial
behaviour are vandalism, graffiti, harassment, intimidation and loutish
behaviour.
AntiSocial
Behaviour, which is expected to be completed by October 2006, is aiming
for a world-wide release. The number of individuals and firms
that have given their time and expertise in the making of this project
is most certain to contribute to its success. A search for a
world-wide distributor is currently ongoing.
